How does DualFrame Camera record two videos at once? ▾
DualFrame Camera uses a single camera sensor captured in a tall format (4:3). Because the sensor captures more than a 16:9 frame, we can crop both a 9:16 portrait and a 16:9 landscape from the same sensor data — at the same time, with no quality loss. Both output files share the same optical centre, so they're perfectly aligned.
Where are my recordings saved? ▾
Both your portrait and landscape recordings are saved automatically to your iPhone's Photos library at the end of every session. DualFrame Camera will ask for Photos access (add only) the first time it saves. You'll find your clips in the "Recents" album.
What's the difference between the capture modes? ▾
Both: Saves a portrait (9:16) file and a landscape (16:9) file — two clips per recording.
Portrait only: Saves only the 9:16 file. Good for Instagram Reels, TikTok.
Landscape only: Saves only the 16:9 file. Good for YouTube, interviews.
How does the 3-day free trial work? ▾
Your free trial starts automatically the first time you open DualFrame Camera. You have full, unlimited access to all features for 3 days. After your trial ends, a one-time $5.99 purchase is required to continue recording. There are no subscriptions.
I already paid — how do I restore my purchase? ▾
Open DualFrame Camera, tap the gear icon (⚙️) in the top right, scroll to the About section, and tap Restore Purchase. Make sure you're signed into the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.
The landscape PiP preview looks laggy — is that normal? ▾
No. If you're seeing lag on the landscape preview, try force-quitting and relaunching the app. On some devices the display layer needs a fresh session to sync properly. If the issue persists, please contact us.
Can I record in 4K? ▾
Yes. DualFrame Camera supports 4K at 24, 30, and 60fps. Go to Settings (⚙️) and set Resolution to 4K. Note: 4K/60fps files are large — check your available storage before a long shoot.
My recording stopped unexpectedly — what happened? ▾
This can happen if a phone call comes in, Siri activates, or the device gets too hot. DualFrame Camera saves whatever was recorded up to that point and shows an alert. Your partial recording will be in your Photos library. If you suspect a bug, please reach out with your device model and iOS version.
Does DualFrame Camera work on iPad? ▾
DualFrame Camera is designed and optimised for iPhone (iOS 17.6+). iPad is not officially supported at this time.
